A dream that came true is the base of the Kawai company. In their offer they have high end pianos that will meet the professional pianists expectations. There are cheaper models as well. History

The founder, Koichi Kawai, as a teenager worked with producing pianos. In 1927 he established his own company. He employed a few of his colleagues. Their common dream was to build a grand piano with their own hands. Thanks to their involvement and consequence they achieved it. But it was just the beginning. The company gradually developed. Its factory in Hamamatsu relased more and more pianos. By the half of the XX century about 500 people worked there. They produced 1500 pianos per year.
After Koichi's death in 1955 the company was took over by his son Shigeru. He was 33 years old then. Being loyal to his fathers ideals he has led to the dynamic development of the company and opened two new factories and established several musical organizations. A way to gain a new market was direct marketing. 2000 employees got new customers. As a result Kawai instruments are exporting to all continents.
Kawai remains a family business to this day. Taken investments to improve production with advanced robotics oscillate around tens of millions of dollars.

    2002 – in making of Millenium III mechanism was used combination of ABS with carbon fiber. This procedure increased their durability and lightened them.
